Before I became what I am today, I also started as a trying hard musician. Why? Because I try hard just to learn more about music and how to play guitar specifically. I used to walk for almost 3 kilometers just to take a guitar lesson from one of my church mates. It was never easy. That time I need to borrow an old cheap guitar, imagine that the guitar had a big crack. I also attended free church music workshops, traveling from different places to another with just my passion for learning more. Everything was never easy, from criticism to discouragement. I was born in a time where the internet was not yet available, no CDs, no Spotify or YouTube. I learned the old school way, listening to cassette tapes, learning songs from song hits, and waiting for my favorite song to be played on the radio so I can study it. It was never easy. All of these are just part of my hardships to be a better musician until fortune gave me a chance to take my college degree and decided to take conservatory of music after 10 years of waiting after I graduated from high school.
Long story short, you can go through all of these obstacles alone, or you can find yourself a Teacher who can show you a desirable path.
Alo can help.

Berny Praxides - Luthier and Guitarist at Exousia

I learned tons of contemporary concepts from him. He helped increase my awareness which provided the means for me to create lines based on what the rhythm section was playing. This opened up new doors and introduced me to sounds and tonal colors that I really like, as opposed to my traditional methods that mostly involved going up and down the scales.

When it comes to in depth theory and guitar hacks, you can never go wrong with Alo. His concepts and ideas will surely make you practice even more, i’m jazz saying 🙂
